Problem:
How do I sign up for the PIER instant messaging-based emergency notification
system?
Solution:
Go to http://mypack.ncsu.edu and login
using your Unity ID and password. If you get a pop-up window asking you to sign
up for emergency notification, click on the Register Here button and go to step
number 3 of the following instructions.
For Students:
1. Click on Student Self-Service.
2. Under Campus Personal Information, click on Phone Numbers.
3. Click on Add a Phone Number, select Cell as the Phone Type and enter your
cell phone number.
4. Check the box next to the text authorizing the University to send text
messages to your cell phone.
5. Click on Save.
For Employees:
1. Click on Employee Self-Service.
2. Under Personal Information, click on Phone Numbers.
3. Click on Add a Phone Number, select Cell as the Phone Type and enter your
cell phone number.
4. Check the box next to the text authorizing the University to send text
messages to your cell phone.
5. Click on Save.
You should now be signed up to receive emergency instant message notifications
via the PIER system.
